Custom Millwork Drafter/Detailer

We are seeking a highly skilled architectural millwork detailer to join our engineering team. This team is responsible for creating construction drawings, setup plans, and breaking out CNC parts from 3D design renderings for the fabrication of retail, and corporate, with a focus on custom trade show exhibits. Project scopes involve all aspects of construction design, engineering, fabrication, and installations. In this role, you will collaborate with project managers and production supervisors to transform concept designs into precise construction drawings for the shop floor.

Responsibilities:
  • Consult with the project team on building methods prior to starting a project.
  • Utilize critical problem-solving skills to derive tolerances and other details from partial specifications.
  • Produce detailed construction drawings with accurate measurements, guides, material, and finish specifications.
  • Extract parts from 3D designs, develop 2D component layouts and nest parts for CNC routing.
  • Collaborate with project managers and production teams during the development of all concepts.
  • Provide insight into the engineering process during concept development.
  • Value-engineer and plan for production by employing innovative building methods and suggesting intuitive materials.
  • Continuously review and evaluate in-process work, ensuring adherence to drawing specifications by working closely with production and project managers.
Qualifications:
  • 2-5 years of experience in custom millwork fabrication.
  • Proficiency in AutoDesk Inventor (mandatory).
  • Proficiency in CAD/CAM operations using AutoCAD.
  • Experience with wood joinery.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Bachelor’s degree is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Router CIM software is a plus.
  • Experience nesting parts extracted from 3D designs is a plus.
  • Certifications in CAD/CAM are a plus.
